Growing up in Vietnam and influenced by the culture of Asia, I began absorbing in acupuncture and herbal medicine in my childhood. I earned my Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 1996 and have been in private practice ever since.
Since 2008 I have been awarded the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, where I taught and supervised with strict traditional standards balanced with large dosages of humor.

Farahnaz Akhavan has worked in the alternative medicine and health care field for over 20 years. She worked in the field of OB/GYN and women's health for several years before becoming an alternative medicine practitioner. She also worked with the united nations as health care professional for two years. She has helped chronically ill patients for numerous years through pain management and nutritional / herbal consultation.
