My name is Rocio Rodriguez. I have been working in the massage field for the last 16 years. Originally, I started off in college as a physical therapist major. I was introduced to massage and I was immediately drawn to the spiritual connection between mind and body, and as a result I actually went into the massage field. Massage therapy allowed me to develop a deep relationship with my clients in order to get a better understanding of their aliments. My massage practice is about helping the client heal physical and spiritual wounds.

I am a practitioner of traditional Japanese acupuncture and have studied extensively with master acupuncturist Koji Ichihashi of the Kurumadani School of Japan. Japanese acupuncture technique involves shallow insertion of very thin, delicate needles into points along the Meridians of the body. It is a relaxing spa-like treatment that is gentle and essentially pain free. This style incorporates medical Shiatsu massage while the needles are in the body. I give my patients self-care education, Qigong (energy movement), nutritional counseling and suggest Chinese herbal therapies and/or supplements in a nurturing environment.

I use a functional and integrative model to get to create evidence based and completely personalized nutrition programs. The functional approach allows us to get to the root cause of disease and address the source(s), not just put a bandaid over the symptoms. After graduating, I started my career as a Health Coach, then later earned certifications as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Group Fitness Instructor, and Registered Dietitian. During my ten years as a Health Coach, I traveled to companies throughout the United States. I provided support to their employees by organizing health fairs, teaching group classes, and creating educational resources on topics such as diabetes management.

Oliver also served as a clinical intern and mentored at various facilities including American Institute of Acupuncture Orthopedics & Traumatology, California Pacific Medical Center, and Yueyang Hospital of Integrative Medicine in Shanghai, China.
