Dr. Short is the only Board Certified Atlas Orthogonist, an upper cervical technique, in Florida that is also Advanced certified in Activator Methods. With a Master's degree in Sports Medicine, Dr. Short addresses soft tissue issues, providing several types of therapy, along with correction of bony misalignments for optimal results.

I began my studies in 1976 with Macrobiotics, eventually studying Chinese Medicine via apprenticeship with a 5th generation Korean master. I was licensed in 1982 and been in private practice since then. My treatment style is a mixture of many approaches, the main emphasis is "Taoist style." I am also certified in Acutonics Sound Healing. I specialize in treating pain, injuries and internal diseases. My treatments are known for their rapid effects and gentle touch. I graduated from the Traditional Chinese Medical School in China and specialized in acupuncture, and had practiced acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hainan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for many years before coming to US. While working in China, I had my fellowships with the well-known acupuncture professors Situ Ling and Jin Rui from Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medical University in Guangzhou, China. I had also worked for years with the well-known acupuncturist Wang Xingyi from Hainan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Haikou, China.

I am a pediatric registered dietitian and lactation counselor specializing in GI nutrition and gut health. I help little ones with reflux, food allergies, FPIES, SIBO, constipation, eczema, and more by supporting healthy digestion. This also includes food allergy prevention and management. My mission is to help parents and families by providing personalized strategies, tools, and guidance with a more holistic approach, and without unnecessary medications. I also offer functional lab testing to get to the underlying cause of your family's symptoms. My services are currently offered via telehealth.

The focus of my practice is internal medicine, with a specialty in women's health. However, acupuncture and herbal therapies successfully treat a wide variety of symptoms and illnesses, all of which are fundamental imbalances at their core. I use a combination of traditional acupuncture (to balance "vital energy") in conjunction with Western herbs and nutrition. I prefer Western herbs (vs. Chinese) for several reasons, not the least of which is quality control.
