Before opening my own practice in Folsom, I worked at a busy acupuncture clinic for 4 years where we saw average 55 patients per day. It was precious experience for me as I was able to see and treat various medical conditions from the age of one-month-old babies to over 100-years-old elders. In Japan, acupuncture has been used extensively to treat childhood ailments. For youger childrens, I use special pediatric tools that developed about 300 years ago in Japan. Childrens, actually, respond better and faster than adults due to their sensitivity.

I have over 20 years experience as a Registered Dietitian with a master's degree in Public Health Nutrition (MPH). I also have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology and am a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). I focus on the whole person and want to help you achieve a healthy lifestyle with an evaluation of current exercise and eating habits; assessment of labs, medications, and supplements; discussion of medical conditions; and goal setting for your particular concerns. I was born and raised in Auburn, California and am a 1996 graduate of Bastyr University, the leading naturopathic medical school in North America. Growing up with my dad as a local doctor inspired me to pursue medicine myself. Personal illness with questions left unanswered by western medicine led me in the direction of naturopathic medicine. I am passionate about helping people find their optimal health. I fill up my free time with my husband and 2 beautiful daughters. Together we enjoy rock-climbing, horse back riding, surfing, gardening and just being together.

She continued on to fulfill her lifelong goal of becoming a Naturopathic Doctor earning her Doctorate from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 2009. Dr. Ballere treats a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. She holds a special place in her heart and in her practice for supportive cancer care since her mother's own diagnosis and winning battle with colon cancer that began in 2005.

Dr. Hanson is a California licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor. He received his doctorate in 2007 at the prestigious National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) located in Portland, Oregon. He has been an associate doctor with Dr. Frank Shallenberger MD at The Nevada Center in Carson City for seven years. Dr. Shallenberger is well known throughout the United States for his pioneering work using ozone gas (Prolozone) for treating chronic joint pains and acute injuries. This is what brought Dr. Hanson to this region from the Pacific Northwest, to learn this therapy and acquire the skill to use it effectively.
