Dr. Hanson is a California licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor. He received his doctorate in 2007 at the prestigious National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) located in Portland, Oregon. He has been an associate doctor with Dr. Frank Shallenberger MD at The Nevada Center in Carson City for seven years. Dr. Shallenberger is well known throughout the United States for his pioneering work using ozone gas (Prolozone) for treating chronic joint pains and acute injuries. This is what brought Dr. Hanson to this region from the Pacific Northwest, to learn this therapy and acquire the skill to use it effectively.

Before opening my own practice in Folsom, I worked at a busy acupuncture clinic for 4 years where we saw average 55 patients per day. It was precious experience for me as I was able to see and treat various medical conditions from the age of one-month-old babies to over 100-years-old elders. In Japan, acupuncture has been used extensively to treat childhood ailments. For youger childrens, I use special pediatric tools that developed about 300 years ago in Japan. Childrens, actually, respond better and faster than adults due to their sensitivity.

I am a UC Davis graduate and have been a registered dietitian for over 5 years with experience working with clients struggling with IBS, Crohns, Ulcerative Colitis, gastric cancers, and general digestive issues. I grew up in China and graduated from the Medical School of Chengdu Sports University, where I received my Bachelors degree in Medicine, with an emphasis on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and worked for several years as a certified orthopedic surgeon, acupuncture and massage physician. I am a NCCAOM board-certified acupuncturist and also have a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy as a result of my continued US education. I have thorough experience in treating a variety of acute and chronic conditions and their underlying causes, using a holistic approach through acupuncture, massage, and herbal medicine.

I was born and raised in Auburn, California and am a 1996 graduate of Bastyr University, the leading naturopathic medical school in North America. Growing up with my dad as a local doctor inspired me to pursue medicine myself. Personal illness with questions left unanswered by western medicine led me in the direction of naturopathic medicine.
