I offer acupuncture, homeopathy, nutrition counseling and traditional medicine approach to healing. I am a medical doctor with extensive training in different disciplines including pain management. I find it very rewarding to treat my patients with individual approach and choose more natural treatments when possible after a correct diagnosis is established.

I have been a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine for over twenty years. I use acupuncture, Moxabustion and herbs to heal a variety of conditions by restoring the balance and harmony of energy of patients. I also offer nutritional guidance and qigong exercises to enable patients to participate in promoting their own health and well-being and to prevent illness. My goal is to see patients recover from their acute and chronic health issues and see them enjoy life again. This is the greatest joy I have as a healer.

I am Board Certified in Integrative and functional Medicine. That means that I work with clients to find the root causes of their symptoms in a holistic way. We are learning that maintaining our gut health is the root of treating many diseases including autoimmune, inflammatory, skin, obesity, cancer, allergies, and more. I work with clients to figure out why they are struggling with a condition and treat it using food as medicine, identifying food sensitivities, providing nutrients to maximize the body's functioning, and if needed, I do cooking sessions to teach how to make healthy food taste great.

Because of my own personal health journey, I empathize with people who feel trapped and worried that their health challenges have become the new normal. I support my clients and make their voices heard in order to tackle the health challenge head-on.

I'm Dr. Kent and here's my story: The truth is I'm just like you! At the age of 35 I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. For the next 10 years I took my thyroid medication faithfully and yet I never felt any better. Nothing really improved. I never had enough energy, I struggled to lose weight, I had a tendency toward depression; to put it mildly I was extremely frustrated. I'd go to my doctor and tell him about my fatigue, my depression and my inability to lose weight. He'd tell me my labs looked fine; it wasn't my thyroid.

I am a Level 3 graduate of the Neuro-Acupuncture Institute and I specialize in Neuro-Acupuncture. Neuro-Acupuncture is a marriage of time-tested tradition and space-age science. Nick earned his Master's degree in Nutrition at Bastyr University known for their "whole food" and natural approach to health and nutrition. Nick is also a Certified Diabetes Educator with over 10 years experience helping clients manage diabetes. In addition, Nick is a Digestive Health Professional having trained at the Food Enzyme Institute which specializes in identifying sources of digestive stress.

I use a nonjudgmental, weight-neutral and gender inclusive approach, to help all people realize that food can and does mean so much more than just the nutrients on the plate, and empower them that having a normalized relationship with food is possible. I believe in utilizing an all foods fit mentality to neutralize from the notion of “good” or “bad” foods. At Integrative Therapeutic Massage, we help people with muscular pain problems feel better. Whether helping Chicago area athletes maintain their peak performance with sports massage or aiding clients in the rehabilitation of an injury or chronic pain condition, we have the experience and the expertise to assess and treat your pain symptoms and, in many cases, correct those factors contributing to the problem.
