Hello! I’m Leen and I am a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in the states of Illinois and Maryland. My interest in nutrition began in my teenage years where I struggled with my relationship with food and maintaining my health. I became passionate about the nutrition field and completed a Bachelor of Science and Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My dietetic internship included a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings that were dedicated to counseling individuals and helping them maintain nutritional health.

Shahrzad Taavoni, L.Ac, Dipl OM, M.A.T.C.M, B.S. trained and excelled in the one of the most rigorous Acupuncture programs in the country. She received her Masters degree in California which has the highest standards for education and examination in the country. She completed her 4 years Masters degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Los Angeles, California in 2006. She is a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from UMCP.

I work with patients who are looking to return to health through a natural approach. As a Registered Dietitian, and a Certified Diabetes Educator, for the past 25 years I have provided nutrition counselling to adults and children to make lifestyle changes to prevent complications from obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. I am very passionate about integrating Functional Nutrition and Alternative healing techniques like Reiki, Jin Shin Jyutsu, and yoga to prevent and reverse anxiety, depression, digestive and auto immune diseases. I understand that changing once food habits is very challenging. My goal is to motivate my clients to adjust to their new norm of life style, leading to a healthy well being.

Haleigh practices out of Health Loft specializing in working with clients with Eating Disorders, PCOS, Pre/Postpartum nutrition, IBS, and Food Allergies. Haleigh loves helping her clients make small changes to their lifestyle that makes a huge difference to their health. Haleigh is dedicated to assisting clients with a mind-body approach to a healthier lifestyle through education on intuitive eating, stress reduction and a whole foods approach. She is a “non-diet” dietitian and strongly supports making changes that work for each person as an individual.

My medical career began at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). My studies included training in both Western and Traditional Chinese medicine. After completed my Acupuncture Master degree study in the post-graduate school of the University, I was assigned to an research position in Shanghai Research Institute of Acupuncture & Meridian. I worked there for 3 years in the field of study of Chinese Acupuncture Schools & Doctrine and attended Outpatient Clinic Center to treat patients at the same time.
