Ming Jin received eleven years of training at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of China's leading medical schools, studying Oriental and Western medicine. She was an attending physician at Shanghai Wu Song Hospital for her medical residency. Afterward she returned to the Shanghai University of TCM as a graduate student specializing in TCM Cardiology. Employed by the university after completing her Masters' Degree, she went on to post-graduate studies in gynecology and became one of the first women in China to earn a Ph.D. in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I am an experienced Registered Dietitian, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, medical nutrition therapy, and general nutrition counseling. I am currently the director of the nutrition department at the NYS Psychiatric Institute, an in-patient treatment unit at Columbia University Medical Center. My philosophy is founded on the principle that being healthy does not require dieting or deprivation. We will work towards creating a healthy relationship with food by normalizing eating behaviors and developing the skills to make mindful decisions about food and your body.

I started my career in clinical nutrition with a weight loss of over 70 lbs. Since then, I have obtained my graduate degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University and am currently on the board of directors of the National Lipid Association and the Clinical Nutrition Coordinator at the NYU School of Medicine.
