HI, I’m Alexis! I am a HAES aligned Registered Dietitian specializing in all forms of disordered eating, substance abuse, and medical nutrition therapy. My nutrition counseling approach would be described as weight neutral, client-centered, and evidence-based. I believe everyone has the potential to actualize a life free from the burdens of dieting, the pressure of self-criticism, and the distress of consistent body dissatisfaction. I also believe clients nutritionally affected by certain medical diagnoses can find joy in preparing meals consistent with their new version of health.

As a Naturopath, I address the same problems that medical doctors see every day in their office. However, instead of treating a patient with medications that suppress symptoms, I work to find out what is causing the undesirable conditions. By exploring your specific symptoms and body/organ/gland conditions during your consultation, much can be learned about how your body is expressing nutritional deficiencies, the need to detoxify, weakened organ/glands, sensitivity to foods, emotional issues and more. Once this is understood it is often easy to explain how and why such negative symptoms and diseases have surfaced in the body.

As a Nutrition Therapist, my goal is to repair, rebuild and restore you back to health by teaching you how to renourish yourself mind, body and spirit, verses just teaching you how to eat. Hyundo (a.k.a. Hans) Kim is a licensed acupuncturist in Illinois and a former professor at the prestigious Sangji University in Korea. He received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Then he graduated from Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, CA with Magna Cum Laude and spent the next eight years in Korea, working at Korean Research Institute of Geriatrics as the senior researcher and then at Sangji University.

Our office utilizes mainstream medical diagnosis and treatment protocols combined with an integrative/holistic medical approach for the treatment of all disease processes including autoimmune disease, chronic fatigue, hormone imbalances, gastrointestinal problems,headaches, fibromyalgia pain,orthopedic issues,etc. We utilize herbal and nutritional medicines as an adjunct treatment for a variety of illness to compliment our patients' care.
