Hello and welcome to my page! My name is April Vetrano - I am a registered dietitian with a strong passion for helping people reach their health goals. I empower my clients to reach their health goals in a sustainable manner by helping them regain control, create sustainable change and develop a positive relationship with food. You won't find any crazy fad diets here and you definitely won't find me asking you to eat a crazy low number of calories. Nutrition is about being sustainable and developing health longevity. I not only want you to reach your health goals, but I want you to keep them.

As a healthcare practicioner, I believe that personalized preventive care is of the utmost importance in helping people achieve their health goals. My education and experience in the healthcare field has enabled me to incorporate a client-centered approach to medicine that is tailored to the unique needs of those who seek my counsel. Because beliefs, attitudes, and motivations can all play a major role in overall wellness, I examine and include the physical, mental and emotional aspects of all my patients in order to make a more integrated and accurate diagnosis.

I’m a licensed Chiropractor with over 30 years experience in helping individuals with back and neck challenges and for those who want to reach there health potential. I have written a book "Grasping the Gecko by the Tail" on Japanese Acupuncture and teach at the Asian Institute. I practice Chinese and Japanese forms of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. I am a licensed Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. I have full raw, granule, and patent herbal medicine pharmacies at my clinic at Tucson Natural Medicine Center. Acupuncture, herbs, and lifestyle modification were the dominant healthcare in Asia for thousands of years. Ancient doctors had the foresight to document their medical practice. It is not surprising that conventional medicine is looking back to this tradition for solutions and acupuncture has been the leading "alternative" medicine for years. I specialize in helping clients with all types of eating disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID and OSFED), working with athletes, and those with various clinical backgrounds including Diabetes and Gastrointestinal Disorders. We are passionate about treating people who have been injured in auto collisions. Stats show that over 1/2 of these people will still be in pain 2 years later, even with treatment. We do our due diligence to make sure our patients receive every necessary testing and treatment, coordinating with other health professionals. We also enjoy helping those with upper neck and headache issues utilizing the Atlas Orthogonal technique. We are one of 200 or so doctors in the world trained in this technique, which is gentle and very effective. We have seen great success treating patients with migraine headaches with this method.

As such I was a professor of Oncology at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I instructed 4th year Naturopathic medical students. As a retired professional ballet dancer, I have dedicated most of my life to the study of movement. I have always been fascinated with the human body and how it works. Once I stopped performing, it seemed only natural that I would gravitate toward a profession in the field of bodywork. Acupuncture was always helpful to me while I was dancing and I felt that practicing this amazing medicine would give me the opportunity to help others in the same way I was helped throughout my career.
