Hi! My name is Ashley (she/her) and I am a Registered Dietitian based out of New York City. I am the owner of Ashley Beale Nutrition where I practice through a weight-inclusive, all-foods-fit, and trauma-informed approach. I respect and appreciate body diversity, knowing that no two individual’s needs are alike. I believe in a collaborative relationship with my clients where we work together to find what works best for them. Whether you are working on your recovery from an eating disorder or learning how to navigate food with a chronic illness, there is no “right” way to start this journey.

I practice an "all foods fit" approach to food. You have to eat every day, multiple times a day - choosing what to eat should be an easy, non-stressful task. I work with clients to help teach what an overall healthy and balanced diet looks like and to create a healthy relationship with food in simple, convenient and realistic ways.

I have been a NYS licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbologist for 15 years. A native of Thailand, I have my masters degree in Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and have studied at the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Centre in Beijing, China. I received a certification from the Wat Po Traditional Medical School (Bangkok) and have been profiled for my healing practice in Conde Nast Traveler and Self Magazine. I am also a certified Yoga Siromani and studied at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India with the late Mr. Iyengar.

I am an experienced Registered Dietitian, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, medical nutrition therapy, and general nutrition counseling. I am currently the director of the nutrition department at the NYS Psychiatric Institute, an in-patient treatment unit at Columbia University Medical Center. My philosophy is founded on the principle that being healthy does not require dieting or deprivation. We will work towards creating a healthy relationship with food by normalizing eating behaviors and developing the skills to make mindful decisions about food and your body.
