CN
A certified nutritionist has normally completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association, as well as a supervised practice program at a health care facility, community agency, or food service corporation. He or she must then obtain a private CN license.
RD
A registered dietitian has completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association, as well as a supervised practice program at a health care facility, community agency, or a food service corporation. He or she must pass an exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and complete continuing professional educational requirements.
